Wedding Bells

Bells for us my darling, -Wedding Bells

Will be ringing, while the organ swells;

Rings exchanged will gleam on our fingers

While redolent scent of incense lingers.

Vows, my darling, -- rings of  gleaming gold-

Bind us evermore  to love and to hold-

Guardian Angels watch the bridal train,

When the “Yes” word makes us wife and man;

Smiles will spread in pews on faces dear,

Hands will clap and friends and parents cheer;

Beaming relatives and friends draw near;

Tissues wipe from eyes some furtive tear.

Flowers greet in bouquets in a tier

Doves’ sweet cooing rings in our ear,

Strains resound that find their counterpart

In the music of the throbbing heart.

Do you know my darling what is love?-

It is the greatest gift from up above,-

It is giving without bounds and measure

From the heart’s unfathomable treasure;

Wedding bells ring for us, darling mine!

Flowers bright and blossom garlands twine;-

Rose buds whisper through their sheen and bloom:

“Blessing from on high to Bride and Groom!”
