Round and Round the Merry-Go-Round We Go

An endless dance of revolutions

in a carousel of triangular love

I go round and round to chase you,

my beloved.

[The carousel's music]

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

You're blind to me when

we go all around the carousel.

Honestly, I hate being the third

unnecessary wheel in a bike

riding up the steep hill of love.

This unrequited love leaves me

trailing behind.

I'm struggling just to reach

your back.

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

It hurts that you never

looked behind you.

I want you to look at me

the way you look with her.

But how can I make you

fall for me

because it's obvious

I'm out of the picture.

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

Up and down

and round and round

both of your mechanical horses

neigh with glee.

I however am stuck at the end

with a melancholic expression.

My horse runs erratically until

both of you are gone.

I'm slowed to a stop.

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

The clowns music in the background

plays loudly making me appear

the silly fool.

Won't you please come here?

Please stop me from crying.

Didn't you know how much

I've furtively stared

at you whenever you looked away

or how I loved you?

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

These words are sung

as the fool's music becomes

cacaphonous.

The extremity of wanting you

is delicious poison to my soul.

Look behind you from a distance

you've ran, won't you?

You'll see an outlined speck of me

with your blurred vision.

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

But you never did.

You never ventured to see what

was always behind you.

Now you're gone.

It's painful, I know.

But see everyone, this is what

one aspect of love is like.

"Round and round

the merry-go-round

we go

as I love you

and you love her."

Love can mean getting hurt.

Love can mean buckets of tears.

But love can also mean happiness

in which love can never be guaranteed

when you want it to be

but soon it will when you find

someone just for you.

So Mister.

Yes, you!!!

Near the cotton candy stand.

You with the cotton candy in hand.

Would you like to ride with me

in this merry-go-round

best suited for two?

Author's Notes/Comments:

This doesn't exactly deal with me.  I only wanted to write something about it...
