Miles are Mortal

I'll let you live in my memories
Long after the death bells start to ring
If you want, I'll let you be my past
But I wont throw dirt on your casket just yet

Just in case you open its door again,
I'll be at your grave, waiting, my Prince
Holding a flower for each sunset
I'd lied silently crying, alone in my bed

It's been so long,
Your scent's faded from the sheets
But your image still lies there, lingering
The times play repeatedly, torturing me,
Drinking what's left of my sanity

Sometimes I snatch a shovel
Out of spite,
But I can't do it--
To me you're still alive
And dropping the spade,
I break down and cry

"Always and forever," you swore to me
But I guess promises die easily
Miles are a mortal thing--
They don't destroy eternity

I should go now,
I tell your open grave
I'll come back tomorrow,
Just like every day
The sun's dropping to the west,
And beginning to fade

Don't worry,
From a distance I'll let you be
Close your eyes now,
Sleep peacefully...
Dream of me
