In a memory hard to reach, lays a happy moment,
flowers smelling sweetly, chimes sing so gently,
dogs barking in utter joy, children laughing
couples twined around in each other, romance blooms,
In a memory
peace sweeps in, a quiet moment, relaxation,
family all around, minds at rest, hearts in sync,
love floods the field, tranquil melodies play
In a memory
a time removed when the streets were safe to cross,
front yards were made for play, children in the streets,
mothers leaning on porch railing watching in utter glee,
In a memory
hard though it is to reach, moments in time,
when all was seemingly at peace, the monster in the dark,
stuck there, in those beautiful moments, of serenity,
In a fading memory.
