The bile rises
As I think of last night.
All my disguises
Couldn’t hide the fright.
You smiled so cool
As you took my hand.
I knew the rule
But I followed the demand.
I did as you said
Far past what I wanted.
Now my heart feels dead
And my body shunted.
But I made myself fall
With no one to blame
And no one to call.
I lost this game,
So I retreat all alone,
Because where do you go
When you can’t go home?
