Squirming worms wriggling,mermaids skimming
The worms of thoughts and desires
The mind wanton wavering like pretty mermaids
Worms wiggling and crawling beneath the placid surface
of the deep waters in which I am drowned
There is no escape- I can only partly perceive the transluscence
Above the surface where the Sun shines
The bed of mossy sand and eons old corroded rocks
Many skeletons of seafaring vessels grounded
I dive down into myself.....................
Peek through the oval glass windows
The windows of one sunken ship
I see with dismay the discoloured, misshapen ware
The artefacts I cherished.. the ragged books
I slide my fingers over the silver cup I won long back
For plaing some game which now doesn't matter
I strain my eyes to see the writings on my college certificates
Alas !! the writings have faded to nothingness
Without laurels I exist today free and happy
My surface is all what people see
Deep beneath lies me slowly changing with time
