Blaring cab horns, honking cars, blinding lights
Nine o'clock night ,so young yet blurred with poison fumes
Trendy motorcycles pillioned dainty damsels
Purring hot silencers of scooters skipping along the street
Humble hot "dosa" poor man's roadside "sattu" vendor
The cycle rickshaw with tweeting beepers
Dark suited "techie" his wallet bursting with pride
Singing mobile netizens not wanting to be beaten
The fluffed hen at the roadside stall waiting to be eaten
Empty,discoloured hearse skips silently past
Its driver is in no hurry ... he's not driving fast
Time has no meaning for the glass hearse be it morn or eve
Suddenly there is a flurry
Ambulance blowing its siren in great hurry
Small child in the ambulance... sedated
He has fallen from a balcony.. his parents weighted
Waiting with anxiety .. hope.. praying for the child
The child will grow up ... what will he be ?
A rickshaw puller ? "sattu" or "dosa" vendor or a techie?
Same drama staged night after night
Will the stress fizzle out.. or will there be a fight ?

Bhalo laglo nitelite
Bhalo laglo nitelite apnar comment dekhe ( Bengali tr= Felt nice at seeing your comment nitelite) I can't write about the US because I haven't seen anything beyond a handful of snapshots or read few books. We here are easy going and shirk heavy work except when compelled. Yet we do enjoy life to the fullest with the available resources. ~ B Happy.... Spinach time overdue~

I enjoyed this reading,
I enjoyed this reading, Bishu. I had the opportunity recently to watch this video and was intrigued by the mother washing the baby in outside bath...also I enjoyed seeing the way the house is in the video. So different from the U.S. In many ways so much more 'natural'.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."
"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
Emersed Am I
in people's futures as food - what a motif - what a drowning in another culture - the sounds of the open market, there is realness as wisdom in the prospects of a common future - loved this - lived inside it, wecomed it like a letter in the mail from a friend - allets
