I've been with you

For long 360 days

Since March I'm cursed

The deadly curse of God

I'm not to blame

You couldn't virus tame

I waited patiently

For the curse to end

That was wishful thinking

Vaccines coming but when

Tears don't flow now

At seeing people dying

The grim reality

Only physical distancing

The proven panacea

Con side dying economy

People suffering silently

Prayers diffuse 

Into the far reaches 

Of the unknown universe

I'm happy that my term

Is to end in 5 days

Wishing good luck

To the "new normal 2021"

Kick those xxsxxxds out

Quickly and forever

Allow people to live

With dignity and health

As I leave let me tell you

What I learnt from vus

You couldn't take hope

You took lives but 

Hope kept people going
