Running
Running in track pants and sneakers
Through “manless” green meadows
“Look”, said the grazing cows
“There the old man goes
He’s young in mind
he’s bald & white hair shows”
Heart thumping wild in the old old cage
Thinking of activities in his youthful age
Now, head held high for deeds well done
He realizes that he’s not the only one.
Old age homes and smelly hospitals
That’s where he hopes to find his pals
Furling sails which have seen good years
Time to bid adieu to near and dears
Perhaps this is their worst of fears
Floating like clouds in their can of dreams
Vultures abound sounding “beggarly” screams
Seven dwarfs and the pretty Snow White
Dreams that make their journey light
Through unseen rainbow final flight
Journey home is joyous and bright
