Is This necessary?
An item of news caught my attention in the local newspaper. (Jay Walker knocked down by an ambulance that had been called to an accident) The ambulance had its warning siren going and believe me the noise is not to be overheard.
The Ambulance driver and his companion picked up the Jay Walker and attended her injuries. A few seconds later the ambulance was on its way again to the original call for help.
The companion had bandaged the Jay Walkers wounds and placed an oxygen mask to her face.
At the scene of the original accident a small crowd of sightseers were watching with great interest all that was happening. The Local Fire Brigade had also been called and were busily cutting the metal around the doors. More lookers on arrived and Police officers had to disperse them as most of them were in the way. What do people see at such accidents if they cannot be of help why be so nosy and obstruct those helpers that are doing their best to help the injured people in the cars that had been involved in the crash.
Two people had been cut out of the car wrecks and taken to the Ambulance. The Ambulance once again had its siren going full blast and sped off with the victims of the accident and the Jaywalker to the local hospital.
A team awaited the ambulance and all of the accident victims plus the Jaywalker disappeared inside of the hospital.
The accident and the Jaywalker were mentioned in the evening news. All thank goodness were comfortable and a quick recovery was diagnosed by the Doctor or Surgeon in charge.
Later the Jaywalker was charged with endangering lives by her careless crossing of the road. A fine of a few pound were her punishment. The victims in the two cars involved in the accident were eventually discharged from the hospital. You might be asking why I have written this short article, it is quite simple. Do not Jaywalk on busy roads use the pedestrian crossings. Remember you are setting an example to the younger road users. Children are taught how to cross a road safely at school and you give them the impression that it is all right to wander over the road not paying attention to the traffic.
Car drivers, Mobile phones are not the right thing to be using when driving a car. One cannot concentrate on driving and holding a conversation at the same time. If it is a long journey, take breaks every hour or so stretch your legs and relax for a few minutes before going back to that full concentration that is necessary to drive a car or any other vehicle safely in today heavy traffic.
To all that rush to be at the scene of an accident, control your nosiness, do not get in the way of those that can and do help.
