I"ve enjoyed myself so much tonight i"ve scarcly time to breathe,
But homeward time presents its self and now its time to leave.
"I can drop you at the shops" i"m told the rest you"ll manage fine.
The fear i feel comes sudden and pops in to my mind.
The thought of Gallows Road, so dark and long and cold
And i must go along it, be brave so strong and bold.
In to the car we pile, all safe and on our way
The journeys over quickly, goodbye i hear them say
The feelings in my stomache, the sweat against my skin
I know that i must do it, i cannot let it win.
I make my move towards it and think of home and light
The darkness soon envelopes me and fills me up with fright.
My legs at first are heavy, my breathing kind of slow
The trees all seem to whisper, oh look here comes our foe
My courage starts to waver, the panic starts to mount
It knows my fear is rising, of that it has no doubt!
The wind starts telling stories, it shouts and trys to goad
And i am off and running,
oh damn you Gallows Road.
