Why?
I cry and cry
For crying is a must,
That necessary release valve
We need,
In which we all do trust.
For Death although it seems unfair
Tis a must to God and all held dear
For nothing lasts forever, true
But feelings hurt as eyes
Shed tears.
No mortal has a right
To live forever
Day and night
We all must die for life is fair
Each one blessed
A different length
Is it luck
Or fate depressed.
Be you young
Or be you old
Your future comes
A story told
When it ends the darkness falls,
Those left listen to sombre songs
Buy cotton hankies
White and strong
Each and every family touched
That hand of fate
Can be too much,
But all are equal in the end
The air we breathe is stopped my friend.
Time to leave
A time to die
A time to sit and cry and cry.
For all of us sweet sorrow parts,
The love the hope a wishful soul
A crying mind a broken heart
That empty feeling,
Gaping hole.
The tearful eye a baleful sob
All emotions felt are raw
The Reapers only doing his job.
The love of God you find a need
The power of prayer in which you heed
It does all help but then you sigh,
For Man is born to live then die
So you sit and cry and cry
Then offer up the question
Why?
