We Have Time

Folder:
Early Years

One heavy step follows another,

Distance runner trots

And runs no slower.

Although the granite and sand

Shake upon your passage,

You can not stop to stand

and watch a world so savage.

Make your loneliness complete,

Distance runner wait for me

Dizzy head and aching feet

I’m so like you

This you’ll see,

How I race and do not live.

Are we closer than before?

Is the ending up ahead?

Distance runner how I’ve bled

From my road inflicted wounds,

There were curves along the way

And I think I turned too soon,

Have you seen it in my face?

Are we closer than before?

Slow down your hurried pace,

Distance runner please don’t go!

We have time

We have time

Don’t you know?
