A White Knight

She was a knight.
A knight with completely white armor.

From a distance, the armor looks completely unimpaired but, when people get close, very close—which many do not have the honor to achieve—they see the dents, the cracks, and the chips in the seemingly perfect armor.

Yet, even though the knight may have old, cracked armor, the fact is that she wore it, and she wore it proudly. And the knight was still as strong as she was with or without her armor, yet, she chose to wear it.

And, because of that fact, she was seen as a hero, a champion, a warrior.

But, she had one fault, simple or not.

It broke her down on days, right from within.

Because she never let anyone get close, so everyone believed the illusion of being perfect.

When she was anything but.

She'd only let others scrape the surface.
