Patience...

Folder:
Étouffée

Another night,

killing time at Lucy's.

I wish I smoked.

Years of practice,

watching, waiting,

the stillness

and yet I could

use the distraction

of fiddling with a cigarette,

looking for my lighter,

just observing

the curl of the smoke

instead of nursing

this drink

and waiting

for the dawn.

That big decision that always

That big decision that always gets down to "the.lesser of evils" for us. To tell you the truth...usually, a damn vacation fixes it all! Lol.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

:(

numbing to cope is numbing to cope, be it cigarttes or booze, they damage your body and spirit, and patience is a virtue, virtue's don't damage self and spirit, anyways thats a different perspective for you love ;)

For me, waiting is what is so numbing. The loss of time. The blank space between events that you have to try to fill in some way. For me, that is the numbing event ;-)

why do you need to fill it? what is wrong with open space?

Blurry lines...

In this case, it was a blurring of lines, a feeling that my delayed desire for the pleasure of her company was becoming muddled with the negatives associated with other waitings for other meetings with other vigilance. I hate blurry lines, but they seem to be so often a part of my life, but I have less than a year to go until I can opt out! ;-)

Blurry lines...

might be a Rab poem there....;-) I've been dancing with blurry lines for 29 years Dear ;-) And this is a blurry poem for me, a smeared memory of anticipation and mind numbing boredom, and that drop of poetic license that sometimes fails to connect with anyone else ;-)

<3

either I have been doing a really good job at balancing all of my needs and getting them filled, thus leaving me very litte inside to settle or sort via writing...or I have been making myself so busy that I am too bunrt out to bother letting anything come up worth writing about...either way I have been finding few poems in me these days

this can be good as it gives me a chance to catch up on reading for once ;)

Let's hope it's balance;-) But that leaves room for you to to delve into new areas, take your creativity and amazing talent in different directions. Keep your pen moving, even if you don't know where it's going, for every stop on your journey ware worth reading ;-)

X Smoker Syndrome

Love the waiting images - the curl of smoke longed for - listening to the tick of the clock on the bar wall - the throat on fire, put out in time, then flame thrown again, waiting - nice (booze and tobacco will turn you into road kill in time, no liver, the big c, emphyzema, zits and hair loss). Purchased $274.00 worth of booze yesterday. Today I don't feel like drinking. Go figure! - Lady A
