Flashback Fridays Complicated;
a word we both know.
Unspoken, but always
hanging over us,
like the Spanish moss
but with the threat
of a scorpion
or a wicked spider,
always dangling
above that witches cauldron,
waiting to slip some venom
in that bubbling brew
and break the spell.
When one is lucky enough to
When one is lucky enough to have defied odds that took the lives of many others, they tend to become complicated themselves, and have great respect for simplicity in any way they can get it. The nice part about poetry is that you can take all the things that really don't matter put it onto paper as if it does, and gives you a sense of accomplishment and fullfillment on your own insane thinking. Even if it doesn't make sense after putting it on paper, it's still better than it hanging around. It's cathartic. Too much moss, scorpion, and spiders can spoil the brew if you it stays in the pot too long!
