The Ninety-Nine Awaited

It was completely in vain

that I ran with great disdain

from the soft convicting voice

that now makes my heart rejoice.

Yea, I did not want to turn

though, within my heart, guilt did churn.

Yet, my Shepherd chased after me,

yearning to set me, from sin, free.

I was the lost sheep, He sought

among the thickest thickets.

my freedom, His grace wrought.

And I heard the flock rejoice,

in a single loud voice

as I joined their number.
