As you walked though mind today
I felt your foot steps on my heart;
they left prints of laughter and total contentment,
the feeling was overwhelming and warm.

You wandered aimlessly in my thoughts
touching everything as you strolled by;
my body, my spirit, and my soul.
I reached out to touch you back and you smiled.

Tonight when I lay down to slumber
and my eyes are heavy and wanting to rest,
my last thoughts will be of you my love
and I’ll know that we are one day closer.
