Hell's Tuesday

I’m here to report another dark story in the history of man.

I must hurry with the memory and write it as best as I can.

My way of honoring and remembering those who had to die.

All those that were hurt the day the whole world began to cry.

We all awoke to a normal day.

Then, within hours, all hell had broken loose along the way.

It was a sound of thunder… a deafening crash.

As the city was left covered in blood and ash.

These two great towers, once standing, suddenly lost.

But it was those trapped inside that had to pay the ultimate cost.

Explosions of destruction shook our nation with an attack.

The shock spread chaos over a world now going black.

There were people everywhere crying in agony and confusion.

Questions unanswered, “Who is responsible for this intrusion?”

I saw so many innocent people left in pain.

It is only their memory that will so long remain.

We will always remember this Tuesday… a day from hell.

A day when our nation’s finest finally fell.

How many are dead? How many will live?

This unjust assault, we will never forgive.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I watched the movie "World Trade Center" tonight, and it made me think a lot about the lives that were lost on Sept. 11, 2001. It was definitely a day for the history books and for our generation to have something big to tell our grandkids. I give my sympathies to those families and friends that lost loved ones.
