Forgive Me



I hold you tight in my arms

With tears streaming down my face

I had sworn to protect you from all harm

Now I stumble upon my own disgrace



The once bright light is gone from your eyes

I tried my best to keep you safe

It’s my fault you’ve met your demise

But now I face my own disgrace



I hope you can find it in your heart

To forgive me for what I’ve done

It’s my fault your life was torn apart

And it’s my fault you are gone



I place a gentle kiss upon your forehead

My fingers close your lifeless eyes

It’s my fault that you are dead

I’m left alone, in vain I cry



I hope and pray for you to come back

Cause without you, I seem to lack

I fail to smile and refuse to see

If you are not there beside me



I hope you can find it in your heart

To forgive me for all I’ve done

It’s my fault we’ve been torn apart

And it’s my fault you are gone
