I closed my eyes and start to remember
All the little things that were in my past
Growing up, losing them like smoldering ember
But some burns bright with a fire that lasts
And I look back and I see my old friends playing in grass
Screaming, laughing, crying having attitudes and sass
We were in the playground ditching class for as long as we can
Going back getting yelled at for the hell of it
Then we sulk, maybe cry getting punished cuz we ran
And then we would again we began to make a split
Freedom at the door we all ran away
I remember the times we went out to play
But look at us now, I don't know who you are
Where's my best friend from the age of five?
Where did she go? You're not who you were!
But she is now a memory that was once alive
That is now gone and mourned over, no more
I open my eyes again and then closed that door
