z2. 2-40. Untitled

If I've known you forever
Then this is how so
We've lived a dozen lives
So the story would go

I as a rock and you as a tree
Stood still by your side, kept you close to me
And you with your branches, reaching for sun
Remembered your roots and where you came from.

And the rain fell and the wind blew
But nothing could separate us two.
