I stare blank faced

I remember the time you cried of joy

The taste of tears as I kissed them away

The flow of your warm breath on my skin



All these feelings mixed into a beautiful oblivion



I remember the heat of your skin

ablaze

"Please don't close your eyes" I whisper in your ear

You look at me and slowly you close your eyes



I remember the words you spoke to me then

They were still and calm



Now I feel the dizziness of those words as I speak them

In black I stand over you

Tears brimming in my eyes

"Please don't close your eyes" I whisper but you don't hear me

You can't hear me anymore



I look out at the ocean where we swam together

I taste the salt

And I remember the taste of your tears as I kissed them away
