if only i'd believe
that I'm alright without you
I cannot express
the thoughtful happiness
that I am clinging too
words just let me down
to bad you're not around
to make me feel alive
and thoughts run amuck
I'm permanently stuck
in a struggle to survive
because a want is not a need
but I still can't believe
that i'm alright without you
and we cannot progress
into a state of happiness
after all we've been through
