End of the world
Fable by Noelia Davila & Pablo Arrona
No flowers bloomed that day. A couple days, everything seemed as a normal day at the beehive. Spring was near and the little but hardworking bees were laboring hard to fill their quotas this year. Last winter the Queen had announced that they had the worst year by far losing more than half of their family. This meant one that the bees left had to work twice as hard and fly twice as far. Casualties weren’t surprising anymore everyday more bees had to defend themselves and sacrifice themselves but that wasn’t the worst part a new illness had developed that made it difficult for them to breathe.
Nevertheless the bees were determined to make this year work, they were very hopeful. But amongst this large family was a small insect that over time had grown tired, angry and unhopeful. Many years ago, he had a horrible accident, and the poor little bee finished with a broken a wing, so he couldn´t work and many bees whispered about this.
Since he had more time to actually observe the world he noticed that many animals that had once consumed the sweet honey the colony made. The bears were the animals that most rage would manifestate, creating fear within the bees and damaging hundreds of hives a year.
In greed he went behind the back of the bee colony, and the little traitor bee made a deal with the bears. He would steal honey from the hives in order so that the bears wouldn’t destroy them. Although his intentions at the moment were good, little did he know that the task was much more difficult than he thought, and it would lead to the end of the world.
The bears got angry because the traitor bee wasn’t able to provide the honey to them, so in a moment of rage, the big and angry bears destroyed all the beehives, leaving not even the most minuscule of beehives left. The next Spring morning no flower bloom, because of the traitorous acts of a naïve little bee, all the other bees were banished from existence, making it impossible for the innocents flower to pollinate and spread all over the world, so no flowers would ever bloom. The only bee left in the world hummed a sobbing tune, crying in despair, lonely waiting for his death, for he had ended the world with his greed.
