Not enough when I curl up in a ball and cry
Just thank you doesn't make the nightmares go away
Not enough when my emotions are running away
Just thank you doesn't pay my bills put food in my belly take care of my ills
Not enough when I’m staring out a four story window sile
Just thank you doesn't bring back the time
Not enough truth but almost ten years of lies
Just thank you doesn't cover my mother having to bury a daughter who defended her country when others wouldn't bother
Just thank you doesn't cover years of despair, lies about that she took care of her country so she will be taken care of during her care.
Just thank you doesn't wipe the tears from my eyes; take away the nightmares, the dreams, the lies.
If you think you can get away with just thank you then may I suggest that you someplace else because just thank you only works for you and yourself
