Everyone has different faces
and different facets.
Whatever cut this facet of yours
drew forth a new face.
An ugly one.
A poisonous one.
Jagged and unrelenting.
How could someone small
and weak
and humble
and craving love
bring out this side of you?
That tongue of yours
An aural butcher
Peeling back her skin
slicing tissue
drawing forth organs
as you throw them in the trash.
The arteries gush with red
warm, warm red
running on the floor.
You don't see her bleeding
but I do.
I do.
Why are you laughing?
WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?!!!!
WHY IS THIS A JOKE TO YOU?!
I swallow the sick rising.
What's so funny about
spewing absolute garbage
at a little girl?!
The others didn't want to speak
They felt awkward and
uncomfortable.
They were afraid.
But I'm not
I'M NOT AFRAID.
I'LL NEVER BE AFRAID
OF THAT FACE.
I look you dead in the eyes.
My face as expressionless
as a gravestone marker.
I spoke up.
I shouted your shame before them.
You looked in my face
and laughed.
As if I had a microphone.
As if I were a 4th rate comedian
and you were a drunken patron
in a dive bar.
Our relationship can't be the same
Not after this.
I refuse to let it be.
I hope one day you'll wake up.
I hope and pray.
Make you wake to shame and
repentance.
And not tragedy and guilt.
Some people's tongues do
Some people's tongues do run away with themselves. Good desc ription of the agrguement between both characters. Good read.
