Death or the Womb

Don't turn off the light for the dog.

He cries in the dark.

Animals are always looking for

A form of light.

A sun

A Moon

A Star

The artificial radiance

In our homes to light our step

Replace those natural lights for us all.

When the light is out, does the dog think:

"THE SUN IS FALLEN!

THE MOON BURNED AWAY!

THE STARS TURNED INWARDS!"

So he cries and howls for the deaths

of those lights.

Does he believe he is dead?

Or in the womb?

Why Dogs Howl

At dying stars - what do they know we don't?

What a unique perspective . .

What a unique perspective . . . I never thought of it that way.  Our elderly chihuahua sleeps so much that she doesn't seem to notice what light is shining and what light has darkened.
