A Bus Ride from Klang to Baling
Klang is a royal town and is the formal capital of the state of Selangor Malaysia. It is located in the district of Klang and was the formal capital quite prior to the emergence of Kuala Lumpur. It is currently the capital of Shah Alam. It has one of the largest ports handling about 1000 shipments every 5 minutes. It is home to about 240000 people and the population is growing every year. During my stay in Klang, I visited the popular destinations like Snow Walk City, Water World I City, Trick Art Museum, Istana Alam Shah, The Kota Bridge and several secluded beaches.
After my visit in Klang city ended, my destination was Baling city. Based on the suggestions of locals, I chose to cover this journey by Bus and it was one of my best decisions. I booked my bus tickets from redbus and the process was quite simple and hassle free. I selected my seats from a three dimensional view and so I had a clear idea of where I would be sitting in the bus. There are only two options to travel to the city of Bali, which are Train, and Bus but trains usually take a little longer – thanks to frequent halts. There are quite a few Express Buses as well as General Buses plying on this route between Klang and Baling.
Visiting Baling means having to cross the border of the State of Kedah, which is quite close to Thailand. It is considered an ancient town and one of the most developing cities of Malaysia. The city has quite a few attractions like a Clock Tower, which was built to celebrate the independence of Malaysia. Another major attraction is the Kuan Yin Temple, which is a Buddhist Temple inside a huge cave. Make sure to visit the recreational forest in Baling, which also makes for one of the best places for a picnic Hangout. It has a beautiful seven-layer waterfall with cool and clear waters. Thanks to all the above attractions, I had made up my mind to visit Baling after my trip in Klang. Not to forget the Bus journey between the two cities was something that I will always feel like remembering.
There are only two operators plying between these cities, which are Transnasional, and D Amour Enterprise. Transnasional is the only operator that has about 2 departures in the entire day. One is at 9:00 am in the morning and the other is at 9:00 pm at night. D Amour Enterprise has only bus departing in the entire day, which is at 11:00 pm in the night. I have always travelled with Transnasional but this time I decided to travel with D Amour Enterprise as they had a bus plying at 11:00 pm in the night and I am a night traveller. The duration of the journey is about 7 hours. However, this can change if you are travelling with D Amour Enterprise as they ply during the nights when the roads are empty.
