in the silence of the night
you can hear the trees whistling
you can see the moonlight glissening
listen closely
try not to move suddenly
can you hear it running
breathing rapidly
the wind in your hair
when darkness falls nothing seems fair
can you run
run for all your worth
let your feet leap so fast your
gliding more than your running
sweating more than your moving
your heart's racing
i can hear it beat
that pounding
as though it were yelling proudly
ever more so
run till your tiresome body falls
the night is far from over
the moonlit skies are ever so bright
can you hear my growls
do you hear my song of howls
be still my unstable friend that you hear is just an owl
but
that you now hear
that howl you now hear
that's causing you to tremble in fear
the ravens leaving in flocks
the owl's being in silent
the night being over run by fear
calm your steady heart from the fear if you can
run in the river if you can
leap if you can
push yourself if you can
pace yourself
i'm in no need to finish this race
i'm going to run this my own pace
