My Mother's Oven

My mother has an oven she uses every day. It is not a regular oven, when she places her work inside of it, something magnificent comes out. It is called a Kiln; it is used to turn objects made out of clay into pottery. My mother is a ceramist. She has an ability of using her hands to create a whole world of her own. My mother puts little pieces of her pottery around the house giving us the privilege to get a peek of her unique world. The pottery she has done expresses the way she feels and what she has gone through, it is her own way of giving life to her feelings and ideas. She is an artist, creativity fills her up and she keeps on going until dawn. The thing is, she does not realize how good she really is. My mother is an artist, I do not think the word creative can fully begin to describe her; she is more like a creator. Creates things that start up as ideas in her head and using her Kiln she shares them with the world. She lives for this oven, she spends her day in her studio creating new types of pottery and sometimes even sculptures but it is not until she places them in the oven, when we can see what a true artist she really is, and most important, when she realizes the magnitude of her creativity and how she can go as far as she sets her mind to. One day I remember we left for 3 days, once we were on the road she remembered she had left her oven on. She was really worried and preoccupied for what could happen if it exploded. It did not explode, but it was a really big scare for the whole family. All of my friends want my mother to teach them some of her abilities, and what I like the most about her is she is excited to share her knowledge to everyone that wants to learn. She tells everyone she has the oven there, in case someone wants to use it anytime and sometimes even helps my friends when they want to do pottery. She gets very happy whenever I go to her studio and tell her I want to learn, it is something my mom and I share and I understand her excitement whenever it is time to take a piece out of the oven.
