Having nothing but everything at the same time
In the beginning of the times, there was peace and tranquility, but still in that time every animal wanted to have everything they could. Some wanted to have all the wood as possible, to have the biggest and nicest house, some, wanted to have a lot of food so they would never had to seek for it anymore and go through hunger, even some animals wanted an unlimited amount of water. If they could have something, they would like to have it, no matter what, they thought that the more you have, the more happy you’ll be, but the more they had the more empty they felt. They knew that something was wrong; they felt like a hole that can’t ever be filled, and no matter what they had, they would still feel that empty, dark and cold hole in their lives.
One day there was a monkey, walking in the vast and green grass, he was walking without a worry. This monkey was not the prettiest monkey, he did not have the nicest fur, indeed he had a very greasy one, but he had one thing that all the animals didn’t…. a smile on his face. From afar, a majestic and refined peacock saw the monkey lying in the grass with one leg over the other one, enjoying the rays of the sun, without moving any muscle, just his feet up and dawn, with a big smile on his face, he looked in peace, like if everything was okay, he didn’t need more. Confused, the peacock went walking to the monkey that was humming a song, and when he arrived with him, stammeringly asked the monkey “ho..how can yo..you be ha..ha..happy if you don’t ha..have anything”, the monkey with his smile turned to see the peacock and said to him “you are wrong my dear friend, I have everything I could ever ask for, I have happiness, tranquility…..you see, happiness is not about having every material thing…. but it is about having nothing.” The peacock more confused than anything asked the monkey “I..I don’t understand”, and the monkey said laughing “yes, when you have nothing, you start to appreciate everything in life, the things that really matter, are the little ones, those once we don’t see because we are too busy trying to have the best to impress others. When you put aside all the material things and dedicate time for you, you’ll be happy”. Hearing this words, the peacock looked into the sun, closed his eyes, while a tiny smile was forming in his face.
