Mr. Piggles and Great Eagle

For thousands of years a white sphere was being kept and cared for at the top of a tree, by all the animals. This sphere was made by the gods and was to maintain the balance of life. No human being knew about this, since the gods decided to make the animals the caretakers, knowing how greedy and vengeful humans acted. If the sphere were to be moved, changes in nature would happen, if it were broken the world would end. So the gods decided that it had to be protected by a group of gorillas commanded by the animal’s chief, Great Eagle.

Mr. Piggles, a grown pig that loved to wallow in the mud, and his family had been living in a mud pit near the sphere’s sacred home. One day, after hearing some rumours that the sphere was in danger of being stolen, the chief decided that having animals living around the tree wasn’t safe, so he ordered all animals to leave the sphere´s area by 20 trees away from it. Great Eagle ordered the frogs to move to another pond, monkeys to move to 20 trees away, deers to eat from other trees and bushes far away, and Mr. Piggles and his family were to live in another mud pit.

In exchange of this the chief gave the animals fruits, but Mr. Piggles wasn’t satisfied or happy about it. As a form of vengeance he decided to steal the sphere. Mr. Piggles hid in the mud pit and waited until the gorillas had a lunch break, he then proceeded to climb the tree and steal the sphere.

Once he got the sphere, the sky went gray, rain poured down and strong winds struck. He got scared and wanted to put it back but realized this was the only way he could get his mud pit back. When the chief realized the sphere was gone he sent the gorillas to search for it, meanwhile, Mr. Piggles started his way to the chief’s house, which was a 100 trees away. On his way there, the weather got worse and the woods were flooding. He finally arrived at the chief’s house and started the negotiation.

“I’ll put the sphere back if you give me my mud pit.” said the pig.

“I will give you anything you want, but you need to return the sphere now, we are running out of time” answered the chief.

On his way back he tried to run as fast as he could but trees were falling all over and he dropped the sphere. Unfortunately it broke into tiny pieces, meaning the balance of life was broken. All of a sudden everything went black and the world ended.

The moral of the story is: being vengeful can lead to consequences that may damage not only yourself but others around you.
