My Mother's Kusmi Tea

In most homes, when one wakes up, they usually get up to the smell of fresh fruit, bacon and eggs, waffles with syrup...Well not at my home. First thing in the morning, I wake up and as I climb down the stairs I can already smell the essence; chamomile on Monday’s, Matcha on Tuesday’s, Rose green on Wednesday’s, and so on. “My mother’s Kusmi Tea,” I think to myself as I take the last steps on the staircase. She says tea first thing in the morning is great for the mind and body. No wonder she is always in such a good mood, always patient and peaceful with my brothers and I. There was this one time, when we moved to Houston, a few years back(of course she carried with all her tea bags and tea pot at that time) and my brothers and I leaned towards horrible eating habits from all the fast-food restaurants, processed foods, etc(which were very tempting I must admit)...and I felt really chubby, so I told my mom that I wanted to lose weight. As if she had discovered the best diet ever, her eyes popped open and exclaimed, “Drink tea every morning before breakfast!” She assured me I would begin seeing results in a matter of weeks. A bit doubtful, I agreed to do so and followed her steps, I drank a cup of tea before breakfast(although of course I did make an effort towards eating healthier, which meant fruits and vegetables replacing the regular chick-fil-a dine out). But in a matter of weeks I was surprised with the results I saw. Kusmi Tea had brought me back in shape! Or at least that’s what my mom made me believe, I still think it was more of the fruits and vegetables rather than the tea, but anyways, it must have helped in some way. Or this summer, I traveled with friends to Europe and there was this huge Kusmi Tea store on the Champs Elysee in Paris, and she made me go buy a special edition set of Tea Essentials she had seen on the internet. I remember trying to make her forget about the favor, but of course she was very insistent on it. So there I was, carefully carrying the set for the whole trip packed in between all my messy luggage. So if anyone is ever wondering what to give my mother as a birthday present, go for the Matcha gift set; you won’t miss on that one.
