The Bleakest December

Folder:
Poetry

The sky is blue, the air is cold on this December day.

Here I am in the snow, tears frozen on my face.

The wind blows, echoing the ghosts of winters passed.

And this is the first I have to survive without you.

Nothing could ever melt your icy heart,

Not even the icicles that drip from my eyes.

I'm lost in a world that's gone so cold,

And I feel like it's time to keep the frigid wind from blowing.

Darling, you don't know how blessed you are not to feel this pain.

When the snow stops falling and the sun sets,

Don't stand at my grave and cry.

Fill in my footprints, wipe the ice from my face,

Let the roses freeze and my blood melt into the white ground.

Say a prayer and kiss me goodbye.

This is the bleakest December I've ever known,

When I wake, finally, I'll know that I have grown.

Random. I made a new color scheme for my journal and this poem kind of resulted.
