It's that time of year, where I put out all the lights

Decorate the Christmas tree so the glow is oh so bright

I hang out all the stockings and put up the missile toe

Then I drown myself in eggnog and I watch my favorite show



It's just another lonely Christmas

I heard the family is missing me

You can't spend your life wishing upon

People rushing to the stores to buy last minute gifts

I hear songs of celebration sung by the church choir kids

As I look at the Christmas cards I wonder why do they all care

Because it's just another Christmas that I couldn't be there
