I sit alone and I wonder why

I can see the world as it passes me by



Although my back porch seems so lonely to me

It's just the way I think it should be



I can see the fields in the warm spring rain

Watching the sheep go by as they feel no pain



I think to myself how grand that must be

To live a life of bliss happy and carefree



And as the clouds pass over me I see

I can feel the rain as it washes over me



I can feel the rain like the passage of time

It reminds me to live and it reminds me to fly



Yes it gives me wings and lets me soar way up high

I can feel the rain today without a cloud in the sky



Remembering back to the days before

Sometimes we forget just what we're here for



The love fades away as people come and go

Like we're all burning stars just waiting to blow



Still the rain it sings as it says goodnight

Sings like angels in my mind so I wonder why



Why it's so dark outside

Yet I can feel the answer hidden deep inside



And as the clouds pass over me I see

I can feel the rain as it washes over me



I can feel the rain like the passage of time

It reminds me to live and it reminds me to fly
