One Life's Mess

A small little girl at the age of seven

One day started hating the world

When her mother went to heaven

She cried herself to sleep almost every night

Thinking ‘why’d mumma want to take her life?’

Was it her farther and his wrong perception of right

That caused the end to his devoted wife

Or maybe was it the guy at the bus stop

that always looked up her slightly short skirt

who took it upon himself to take off her shirt

She pondered on this for days on end

Till the guy at the bus stop wanted to be her new best friend

The seven year old didn’t know what to do

And eventually she became the one the man wanted to woo

This went on for days then weeks

The man stoping her from telling his secret

Till one day when daddy comes home and she finally speaks

His mind went blank and his anger spread

From all through is body till up in his head

He put his daughter in her room

And then took out the guy with a gun and a ‘boom’

Social services later came for his daughter

After he was charged with man slaughter

They then put her in a home

And was tol one day she would find another of own

But the girl could not get over yet

The events in her life which she had just met

Then seventeen and still not adopted

She stares out the window at the kids that are wanted

The ones whose lives were not tainted in blood

The children who were only dirty when playing in the mud

Her childhood stolen and faith now shattered

She stared in the mirror wondering if she even mattered

With scars on her skin and tears in her eyes

She realises she has no one to tell her good byes

Now taking the same way out as her mother once did

She slips off the chair with the rope hanging tight

And whispered as she did a silent good night
