I have a smile,
It’s here in my pocket.
Where do you keep your smile?
In a small flask, pretty purse, or olden locket?
It’s a precious thing to have
You know,
A big wide grin—
It tells others
“I’m okay”
“I’m no different”
“I’m pleasant”
“I can win”
I have a smile
And today I put it on,
And though today I smiled
My eyes did not,
My eyes don’t ever smile
They have frowned too much.
I like this. Simple, yet
I like this. Simple, yet provokes inward thought.
