A cold December night, a girl looks around at her messy room. She must make sure no one can hear her. With the door closed tight and the others gone, she looks around and bows her head in defeat. Hot drops of salty water sting as they travel down her cheeks. First slow, then picks up quite fast. As she remembers the day she has enduered, she sobs. She cries for the poor. She cries for the needy. She cries for the hungry, the kids who bully her at school. For her family, but never, ever, for herself. She cries like this everynight before her evening slumber. As she atarts to calm, she finds her innerself. She stays here only for a few moment s, before the memories of her past come. They come in a way as if to drown her, to suffocate. She fights them with a force unknown to her. She drives them back so she may breath. She sighs and drifts off into a fitful sleep. The memories again reach out and take hold of her. They control her dreams and twist them. They make her toss and turn on her twin bed. She whispers no no no in her slumber. She springs up in her bed drenched from her cold sweat. She breathes heavy as she catches her breath. She wonders what she could ever do to get rid of these terrors! What she would do to just get some normal sleep! If only there was a way to just dispose of them. As she lay in her feathered bed, she starts to wonder what could have been! What she could have done instead! Mabey these memories wouldn't haunt her so, if only she had the courage to speak up! But alass! It is much to late for all that now. The past must stay in the past. And she must move on. She must learn from it! And prepare for the future. She must learn to deal with the pain and sorrow that follows her dreadful past. The memories will haunt her. Each day, the pain feels a little less. She will need people to help her, but she should be fine. She has been through much and she needs a break. She shall get one when she comes to terms with her past. But until then, she will face horror after horror. Until, there is only peace. The peace will bring what we know now. Tranquility throughout the years. It will bring what we thought we knew. What we always wanted.
