Shoo doop and shoo be waa. Hip tunes

by the hip cats wanna make you take

this stroll down me~mo~ree lane.

Wa~~wa wa wa waaa~~ah!

Dwight D. Eisenhower was president.

Born of the be-bop generation, Dick Clark

grew up on The Five Satins, the original

Drifters, and the cross-over Skyliners of

Doo Wopdom. Memory lane is a long walk best taken

under the boardwalk in the still of the night.

Shoo doop and shoo be waaa. Wa~wa~wa~waaa~ah!

Doo wop shoo waa. Doo wop shoo waa

made it impossible to be tossin’ and turnin’

all night kickin’ blankets to the floor.

I was one of two silhouettes on the shade.

Doo wop shoo wop. Hip Hop is a reference to

Doo wop shoo waaaa.

In the still of the Satin night.

Shoo be doo~~wop shoo be dooooo.

Lead singer Parrish caused the night to be still.

The song was made while we dreamed

of one day doin’ the hand jive and the twist

and the waaa~wa~a~wa~toosi.

I guess it’s because there was

a moon out tonight and he had a glow

in his heart that he wrote and sang

Shoo doop and shoo be woe. Shoo be doop

doop doop be waaaa, in the still of the night.

Doo wop shoo wop. Doo wop shoo ooooo~~~ooooh,

We strolled along together and that

was when you taught me to love you like this.

Oooooh~~~~~shoo doo and shoo be doo,

shoo doo and shoo be doo.

In the still of the night.

Doo wop shoo waa. Doo wop shoo waa.

 The stars were bright above

to keep

our pre

cious looooooooove

When we walk all night, I will hold you

with all of my might, Cause I love you so,

I will never let you go

in the still of the night

echoed in a 1955 church basement.

They don’t write ‘em like that today, baby!

And that’s sayin’ a bunch!

Shoo doo and shoo be doo.

Shoo doo and shoo be doo.

Shoo be doo doot doo be doo.

Doo be doot doot doo be waaa.

The tempo was stroll slow but I

preferred the bop. You said,

dance with me at the sock hop,

in ma poodle skirt of grey felt

white and pink and black , allusions

young people can’t dig. I’m hip,

you read me? Everything was

copestethetic. Doo doot doo doot doo.

(there she goes) Doo doot doo doot doo.

Do doot do doot waa.

Waaaaaaa~~~~~Aaaa~~~~A~ah.

It wasn’t genuine doo wop if there

were no violins in the middle

or at the end. We sang, There goes

ma baby. Where is ma baby?

There she goes. Doo doot do doot.

Doo doot do doot.

Doo wop shoo wop, ma baby said, Hello stranger.

Barbara Lewis sang the greeting a decade

later, but we knew doo wop when we heard

Doo wop shoo wop, ma baby. After that,

you had to hold me closer, closer and closer. And

maybe we’ll be lovers when the music ends.

Darlin’ won’t cha please. Do wop shoo wop.

Shoo doo and shoo be doo~~~this is where

the name for the cartoon dog

came from, young blood. Scoo Be Doo is a

Doo Wop dog, dig? We were either

makin’ love under the boardwalk or it

was peaceful as could be up on the roof,

but it wasn’t doo wop if we didn’t sing,

shoo doo and shoo be doo.

Shoo doo and shoo be doo.

In the still of the night.

Doo wop shoo wop there’s a moon out

tooooo

niiiiii iiight,

held us still and tight. Do waa, doo wa,

dooo wa, do waa. We must stop and ask

why do fools fall in love and why do birds sing?

I guess it’s because someone is in the studio

crooning~~~There’s a moon out tonight.

Wa ah ah oooh.

Waaaaaaa~~~~~Aaaa~~~~A~ah.

Wop baba loo bop and bop bam boom

was late, but doo wop right. We thought

doo wop was like rock and roll, here to stay.

But in the still of the night you held me

with all of your might. It took all Five Satins

to make us fall in love. You said, don’t go,

please stay. The movie wasn’t so hot,

it’s four o’clock and we’re in trouble deep.

Smoke gets in your eyes meant the good

kinda tears. Na na na na na na late at night,

he’ll sit and count his tears. Shoo doo

and shoo be doo.

Shoo doo and shoo be doo.

This moment was magic when we drifted

in and out of the moon light. Doo wop shoo wop

in neon night bright lights we drifted.

Doo wop shoo wa. Doo wop shoo waa ah.

Woe, woooo oh ohoooooo.

In the still ooof the ni ~~~~iiiiii~~~~ight.

Shoo be doop

doop doop be

waaaa.
