Stone Men In A Museum

Vintage Words

Emeralds do not outshine diamond

sparked dew. Speckled light smeared

in reflective rain at night shakes awake

the imagined connotations of light

like neon seen through a water opaqued

windshield. The surface of pooled rain

gives off far more brilliance.

I watch mythical eyelashes

close and slowly open

as if they covered semi-precious

stones pressured into existence.

More than the chipped off

and sanded smooth. Clearly

Rock-cut potential for illumination,

a marble face and a marble laurel

that long ago owned a model

that saw with sparkling eyes

the world of ancient stone

Pbbshh... beautiful dear lady.
You have captured my sight and colored this page of it better than I could.
Oh what a borderless vision this creates for me.
Thank you for writing this, tis thoroughly enjoyed :-)
