It is so easy to step up,
open my mouth, and say
the hard composed
thing that alters the world.
Then, go away thinking
harshly about wrongs
that are easily righted.

Better places are created
because they do not occur
naturally and are made to order;
fashioned from seeing clearness,
being in the fray of wrongness
to turn the page to okay
works for me.

Fear walks with hatred as if
lovers from only one possible
past. Love wants to intervene
but won’t. Most days I think love
needs, like Death, a scythe.
