Once More, Spring

.

Winter sleeps.

Spring stretches

like a waking puppy

gangly and curious

nosing the dirt

greenly.

Spring yawns. Bulbs pierce

the soil blade sharp like spears,

pushing aside last year's

leaves.

Come red breasted bird,

examine rain wet grass

for an earthworm meal. The

violets and crocuses

won't mind.

Absolutely charming and

Absolutely charming and vibrant personifications of the most anticipated season. (And didn't we long for it this year!) Everything about this montage of awakening spells rebirth, refreshment and hope. I adored the casual brilliance of:  ". . . The / violets and crocuses / won't mind."

 A beautiful celebration.

Renewal

Slate cleaned, new start - every year I celebrate another Spring; a place to resprout from the stored up energy of the winters of our lives. Keeps the outlook fresh and curious and optimistic. The used up dies - the next thing is always about to happen. Spring says here it comes, get ready! 71 and still a people believer - line by Katie Heoburn, A Lion In Winter, "How Am I possible!"

Best wishes
