This was not a new idea. It was

and old one revisited to make a point.

Armsful of flowers, tucked under

the bandolier of soldiers in shields

and urban camouflage. Tucking a daisy

or a tulip or a rose, a pansy, a

carnation or alum inside the button

hole farthest away from the holster.

Ordered to not shoot, just stand

and look dangerou, the soldiers smile,

thinking I was not trained to shoot

flower bearers.
