Kitties tumble
gangly limbed
as if the world
were tilting
perpetually.
Obtaining
a perch at night
on the slender sill
requires as much
persistence as
climbing a chair.
As if it were
a tree or fence,
the wood seat
is cold for sitting
and as usual
litter mates
fill the window
and refuse
to move.
