It seems we struggle with each passing day,
But I won't sit and watch you wither away.
You've too good a heart to break,
Too beautiful a smile to take.

So here I lie,
Analzying each spectrum of the sky
With you in the back of my mind
Instead of the corner of my eye.

Who's left to believe in when all is lost?
Well I'm standing before you, willing to pay the cost.
I'll be the shadow, the smoke in your eyes.
I'll be at your side when daylight dies.

So don't turn away,
I pray you've heard the words I've spoken.
I know it hurts love,
It would seem they left us open.

I see you're a queen who's been dethroned,
Cast out in a world you've never known.
Stand down, place your weapons by your side,
It's our war, in the end we'll surely win,
We'll make it out of this fight.

Once we make it through this test,
We'll see this chapter laid to rest.
