Reflecting past…for the future of our children
Was the theme we chose last May
As National celebrates 100 years
Thus we honor the PTA
For us to understand just why
Of the needs addressed long last
See the courage and the insight
Is to glimpse into the past
Embraced within a loving home
With parents to teach and guide
Clean clothes, fresh food, security
In warm beds they did abide
But many a child did stand-alone
With none to guide or teach
Torn clothes, spoiled food, emptiness
No loving arms did reach
In schools they learn to read and write
Through parks they ran and played
As families gathered together at church
In all their finery displayed
Yet one small child apart alone
Someone else’s Mother did eye
Her heart forever touched
When the child whispered “why?”
For they were mothers like You and I
Who with families of there own
Felt the need to make a change
And so the seeds were sewn
And thus they began to develop
To unite, promote and secure
The welfare of all children
For the present and the future
That all might have the advantage
And the opportunity to excel
To raise to the highest standards
Education on every level
For each and every one of you
Have volunteered to give
Of your time and talents
HOPE…eternally will live
That one small seed - 100 years grown
That might have never been
The mission of the PTA is
