A stoic impression
An expression of taste
You could trace my indifference
By the lines on my face
And I tick and I twitch
Like the clock on the wall
That stopped spinning yesterday
So back and forth we go on
Like a game of catch with dad
And I tell you all my secrets
With fingers crossed behind my back
And I know I will dessert you
And I know that you'll stay here
And I know these days will matter
In the end it will be clear.
She said I was lost
But I'm found, It's amazing,
Grace can be yours too, friend
But only if you take it.
So I never buy anything
Too expensive to sell
And I'll never go back
So I'm walking this line
Like I was hit by a pitch
And I'll hold my head high
While my stomach is sick
And I know there is a problem
And I know I'm out the door
And I know you deserve better
But we all deserve better
We all want something more.
Now I'm spinning caps off bottles
I'm spinning till I'm ill
Getting dizzy from all my thinking
And my drinking and my thinking
And I don't know how I got here
And I don't know why I left
But I'm noticing a theme in
My life there is a meaning
I'm sure.
