Constellation

Stars aren’t too far way

Just the ones you want to keep

You see them as you lay awake

At night before you fall asleep

Reach out and touch them

If you can

Reach out and grab them

If you can

But try and keep them

You never can

Stars just won’t stay

Laying in bed

Looking at the stars

Out my window

I’m wondering where you are

I close my eyes and I see your face

(But)Then it drifts into outer space

That’s when I came to the realization

You’re nothing but a constellation

Nothing but a shooting star

Why does it have to be so far?

Take a lesson

Learn it well

Pick a star to be yours

Every night pray to it

And watch it as it soars

Above your head

And when all is said

Just wait another day

Use your mind

You’ll come to find

Stars aren’t too far away

That’s when you’ll come to the realization

She’s nothing but a constellation

Nothing but a shooting star

Why does it have to be so far?

Lay alone

Watch the sky

Until your star appears

Then close your eyes

Forget the lies

(And) Burn the light into your tears

There your star will always stay

A memory for another day

Remember all the words I say

Stars aren’t too far away

Someday you’ll all come to the realization

You’re all someone’s constellation

Each of you someone’s shooting star

In this universe that’s all we are

Stars aren’t too far way

Reach out and touch them

If you can

Reach out and grab them

If you can

But try and keep them

You never can

Stars just won’t stay

Stars never stay.
